The tobacco industry has rapidly become one of the key industries over the past few years for Sollas and for some very good reasons. Traditionally the tobacco industry has always been looking for highly specialised packaging machinery for extremely high outputs. For these applications a number of suppliers were available and in practice Sollas was rarely able to offer similar solutions.

Despite this, Sollas does have a long standing reputation as supplier to the tobacco industry, but mainly for bundle wrappers and equipment for less demanding applications. Because of this, Sollas was able to quickly respond when the cigarette market went through some major changes over the past few decades.

Due to tax increases cigarettes are becoming a luxury product, like cigars. Because of this, more value was given to appearance and presentation, in order to distinguish one product from another. As a consequence, the focus shifted to equipment that would offer greater flexibility paired with an excellent packaging quality, aspects that have always been key factors in the design of the Sollas machines.

Packaging solutions

We can offer wrapping machines for tins in all sorts and shapes, tobacco pouches and cigar and cigarette packs. Sollas provides flexible feeding, collating, turning, tilting, cartoning, overwrapping, banding, shrinking and casepacking solutions and line integration. Film, coated paper and pre-printed material can be used as wrapping material.
